Madi Haslam is a writer and editor based in Montreal.

She is currently editor-in-chief of Maisonneuve, a quarterly of arts, opinion & ideas.

She also edited the anthology LETTERS FROM MONTREAL, forthcoming from Véhicule Press in September 2022. Pre-order the book here.

Her journalism and essays have appeared in publications across Canada and the United States. She’s the former Arts & Ideas editor of This Magazine and former host of the Policy Options podcast.

She’s edited more than a dozen features that have been nominated for National Magazine Awards. Her own reporting has received two Canadian Online Publishing Awards and a CAJ nomination. 

She’s juried for the NMAs and the Ontario Arts Council, and regularly speaks to post-secondary students and emerging writers about feature writing, pitching and magazine production.

She holds a bachelor of journalism from the University of King’s College. As a student, she co-edited the Halifax arts website The Arts Abstract and co-produced the podcast FEMME FM
